Lazarvs (formerly known as Apey & the Pea) is a three piece sludge metal/grunge/stoner rock band from Budapest, Hungary.

History

Apey & the Pea a three piece stoner/sludge/grunge band was formed in late 2009 by András Áron (guitar, vocal), László Makai (drums), and Zoltán Prepelicza (bass). They released their first single in 2010, called 'Better Maxi'

In 2011 they released their five song EP called 'The Day Ends'.

From 2011-2013 they toured around Hungary and Europe. In June 2013 they released their first music video called 'Judas' which was the first single from their upcoming album 'Devil's Nectar' what they released in the same year.[1]

They won the "Album of the year " Gumizsifár Award and "The best debut record of the year" HangSúly Award.[2]

They released their secod record called 'Hellish' in September 2014,.[3] In 2015, Apey & the Pea won the Fonogram Award in "Hard Rock-Metal Album of the Year" category, "The album of the year" HangSúly Award, and "The best live performance of the year" award.

They shared the stage with Saint Vitus, and[4] Crowbar at A38 Ship in Budapest.

After several concerts in 2016 they annonced they began to write their third album called 'HEX'.[5] In October they supported Weedeater[6] in London at Underworld, Camden. In this year they also shared the stage with Dopethrone[7] at A38 in Budapest.

In April 2017 they released the first single and music video 'Slaves' from their next album. They did their first major European tour in this month.

They released the third album 'HEX' in September.

In September 2019 the band announced at the end of their concert in Budapest Park that they change their name to Lazarvs.[8][9][10] They released their fourth self titled album 'Lazarvs' in 2020.

In 2021 they won the Fonogram Award in "Hard Rock-Metal Album of the Year" category[11]

In June 2023 after 14 years they parted ways with their bassist Zoltán Prepelicza. They announced Attila Balogh (Dungaree) as their new bass player and member of the band.[12]

They released two singles from their fifth album called 'Scum' and 'Perpetual Rule' and the studio album called 'Blackest' was released in August 2023. The album release concert was in Budapest Park in September.[12][13][14]
