Lawrence Yu (Chinese: 于智博) is a Chinese business executive who serves as head of Lenovo Group's Middle East and Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.[1]
Education
Yu moved to the United States in 1998 and attended Mitchell High School in Oregon. He studied supply chain management at Michigan State University before completing an MBA at Harvard Business School.
Career
Yu worked at Dell and later at Citigroup, where he was posted to Brazil as part of the firm's graduate leadership programme.
He joined Lenovo in 2010 in a senior advisory role. After a period outside the company during which he co-founded Tuotuodi Technology, an enterprise software firm, he returned to Lenovo in 2019 to head its global retail solutions unit.[2]
In August 2025, Lenovo announced the establishment of a regional headquarters in Riyadh and appointed Yu to lead it.[3][1] The move was part of a broader expansion into the Middle East, including a strategic partnership with Alat, an entity affiliated with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
