Captain Laval St. Germain (born October 18, 1968) is a Canadian mountain climber, public speaker, Boeing 737 pilot and adventurer. St. Germain is a member of the Explorers Club and is a Royal Geographical Society fellow. St. Germain is the only Canadian ever to summit Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen[1]. He has climbed the highest peak on all seven continents, along with the highest point of over 20 countries, and is the only person to have climbed and skied Iraq's highest peak, Cheekha Dar.
St. Germain is an accomplished keynote speaker who lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife, Janet and his family.
Mount Everest
In 2010, St. Germain became the only Canadian to summit Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen[2]. The inspiration behind this challenging feat included the desire to truly test himself and the previous expeditions completed by other adventurers like Reinhold Messner and fellow Canadian Patrick Morrow.
