Lashings Cricket is a cricket sports club run by Lashings LLC based in the city of Los Angeles. The franchise is owned by former USA Cricket Men's national player Abhimanyu Rajp, and businessman Deepak Gosain.[1] The team is referred to as the Lashers. The home ground of the Lashers' is the Leo Magnus Cricket Complex (Woodley Park) in the Sepulveda Basin (Van Nuys), Los Angeles Area. Lashings LLC. has recently gained notoriety due to its association with Minor League Cricket, Willow TV Lashings Cricket plays under the official name of SoCal Lashings in the Western Conference of the Minor League Cricket.[2]

The official motto of the team is Carpe Momentum (seize the moment!) and the official colors are Red and Black. The brand value of the Lashings LLC. was estimated at $1 million in 2020.

Franchise history

In 2020, the USA Cricket (USAC) announced a cricket tournament Minor League Cricket in conjunction with USA Cricket and the American Cricket Enterprises [3] under the Major League Banner. The tournament is based on the Twenty20 format of the game for the growth and development of the sport in United States of America. Twenty four teams were set to participate in the inaugural tournament held in May – July of 2020. The teams, representing 24 different cricket centric cities of the US, were put up on a tender in Winter of 2019. The team representing Los Angeles area in the Southern California region was eventually bought by Lashings LLC. which is run by USA Cricket Men's national player Abhimanyu Rajp, and businessman Deepak Gosain[1].

Home ground

The home ground of the Lashers' is the Leo Magnus Cricket Complex (Woodley Park). The Leo Magnus Cricket Complex (LMCC) is a group of four Cricket ground|cricket grounds located in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, United States. Leo Magnus Cricket Complex. The facility is also called Woodley Cricket Field(s) or Woodley Cricket Complex due to its location in Woodley Park.

Sponsors

A multinational corporation is known to be the official sponsor of the Lashings Cricket Club; however no official information has been released. In December 2020, Lasher's portfolio also received a boost when Kolkata Knight Riders announced they intended to make an investment in the new American T20 league Major League Cricket in the Los Angeles area.[4]
