Lakpa Sherpa (Nepali: लक्पा शेर्पा)(b. 1991)[1] in Makalu, Sankhuwasabha, Nepal is a Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer who successfully climbed several 8000m peaks in Nepal and Pakistan including Everest, K2, Lhotse and Makalu.[2] In the summer of 2021, Lakpa led an expedition to Mt. K2.[3][4]

Early life

He began his career in the field of tourism at a young age, when he was only 14 years old, and his first job was to guide a group of trekkers to Thorang-La Pass. With the money earned from this, he was able to purchase notebooks and other stationery items needed for his studies.[2]

Rescue operation

In 2016 Lakpa was a part of rescue operation as a expert of two Indian from the altitude of 8450m, known ever highest rescue ever.[2][8] This rescue operation is featured in a documentary named "Everest Air", in which Lakpa was cast.[9][10][11]
