Lakhar Thumb is a small village of 759 hectares in Luni Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Lakhar Thumb depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Lakhar Thumb is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Lakhar Thumb's pin code is 342801[4], and village code is 02001000. The area of Lakhar Thumb is segregated as 193 hectares irrigated area, 201 hectares unirrigated, the 180 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 185 hectare area not available for cultivation.
