He also completed a postdoc Fellowship training in CBT with Aaron and Beck at The Beck Institute, Bala Cynwyd, PA. He is a certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) with the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA), is a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, and is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance.[2][3][4]

Career

Bridgman is a practicing clinician in Orange County, California, where his work focuses on mood and anxiety disorders, relationship problems, and addiction recovery. He integrates evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with faith-informed perspectives when desired by clients.

He is a Full Professor and core faculty member of The Chicago School's Clinical PsyD program (Anaheim campus), where he teaches doctoral-level courses including CBT, Clinical Interviewing, Interventions 2, Psychodiagnostic Seminar and Psychotherapy Seminar, and a business class on building and running a private practice.[1] He serves as Chair for the program's Admissions Committee, and is past-chair for the College's Faculty Scholarship Support Committee and past co-chair for the Diversity Advisory Committee.

In the early 1990s, Bridgman collaborated on develping the foundational materials for Celebrate Recovery, a faith-based addiction recovery program for life's "hurts, habits, and hangups." Bridgman helped design its early structure and specialized tracks for survivors of sexual addiction and family members of addicts. These program materials have since been adapted and used in churches internationally.
