Ladan Homayoon Sefat was born February 21, 1978, Tehran, Iran and is a 7th degree dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a woman grandmaster. She is an international competitor, and was an formerly director of the Women's Taekwondo Association of Iran, and was Assistant Director of the Martial Arts Federation of Europe, based in Germany. She is considered one of the earliest female Tae Kwon Do experts in Iran[1].

Early life and career

Ladan Homayoon Sefat started studying martial arts at in Tae Kwon Do in 1981 in Tehran, Iran. Homayoon Sefat traveled to Europe [2] in 2000 and won medals at the European Open Taekwondo Competition, and medals for sparring and forms in the World Martial Arts Championships. She was teaching at fitness centers and eventually coached taekwondo as a black belt. At age 20, she was appointed the director [3] of the Women's Taekwondo Association in Iran. Homyaoon Sefat left Iran in 2002 for humanitarian reasons, and was granted asylum in Germany. She continued her training as a student of grand master Keun Tae Lee. Homayoon Sefat also earned black belts in Karate, and Kung Fu. In 2006, she received a silver medal in the World Martial Arts Championships. Homayoon Sefat moved eventually moved to the United States and opened her fitness and Tae Kwon Do training facility in Beverly Hills Los Angeles in 2013. She now runs her own fitness studio called Ladan's Wellness Sanctuary. She also hosts a radio show on Radio Hamrah and has been quoted by media outlets[4] on martial arts topics.
