Biography

Lisa Richman (pen name L.L. Richman) is an American producer-director and author who also worked in radiation physics. As Senior Director-Producer at Hallmark Cards, Inc.[1] she is best known for the historical documentary, The Heart and Hands of Hallmark for which she was awarded two silver Telly Awards[2], and the web series, Another Holiday (We Didn't Invent).[3] Richman is also an author of hard science fiction under the pseudonym L.L. Richman. Her literary work[4], which includes the Biogenesis War, Battlefield Diplomacy, and Aeon 14 series, has been recognized by the International Book Awards[5], Hugh Howey's SPSFC Awards,[6] and the Reader's Favorite Book Awards.[7] Richman is also a private pilot, [8] and worked in radiation physics with her husband at Physics Support Services, a company that provided radiation physics consulting and contract services to the medical community.

Radiation Physics Career

In 2003, Lisa worked Physics Support Services,[9] a Missouri-based consulting firm specializing in the application of physics in medicine. Her work focused on radiation oncology, including:

  • Brachytherapy: the application of radioisotopes (e.g.Palladium-103) as radioactive sources directly into tumors as internal radiotherapy.
  • Linear Accelerator Commissioning: the setup and calibration of clinical linear accelerators.
  • Treatment Quality Assurance (QA): for Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).

Film and Media Career

As a Senior Director and Producer at Hallmark Media Productions/Grand Studios, Richman worked with high-profile celebrities such as Betty White, Maya Angelou, and recording artists Jewel and Michael Bublé. Her work included:

As L.L. Richman, Lisa has six published science fiction series, totaling 23 novels. These are further categorized in the sub-genres of hard science fiction, generic engineering, and military science fiction. Her work is characterized by plausible extrapolations based on current science, and often include an afterword that discusses recent developments and discoveries.

  • The Biogenesis War Universe: The main series is compromised of four books (The Chiral Agent, The Chiral Protocol, Chiral Justice, Dagger’s Edge). The Early Years is a series of origin stories that tie back to the original four novels.
  • The Aeon 14 Universe: A collaboration with M.D. Cooper on The Enfield Genesis and The Sol Dissolution series.
  • Additional Series: Vision Rising and Battlefield Diplomacy, both published by Aethon Books
