Kuwait Metropolis, the country's capital and biggest city, is located on the Persian Gulf. Location: Kuwait's Seif Palace and government offices are located in this area, which is also home to the headquarters of most Kuwaiti corporations and banks. It is located in the country's heartland on the south shore of Kuwait Bay on the Persian Gulf, and it is the political, cultural, and economic hub of Kuwait.

As of 2018, the metropolitan region has over 3 million residents (representing more than 70% of the total population of the nation). The city itself does not have any official authority. All six governorates of the nation include portions of the urban agglomeration, which is further subdivided into a plethora of subdistricts and districts. When used in a more restrictive sense, Kuwait City may refer only to the town's historic centre, which is now a part of the Capital Governorate and blends seamlessly with the surrounding metropolitan districts.

Kuwait International Airport, Mina Al-Shuwaik (Shuwaik Port), and Mina Al Ahmadi (Al Ahmadi Port) serve the city's economic and transportation requirements. Kuwait International Airport is located in Kuwait City (Ahmadi Port).
