Kumhiya is a small village of 23 hectares in Bansdih Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kumhiya depends on Bansdih (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Kumhiya's pin code is 277304[4], and village code is 09255600. The area of Kumhiya is segregated as 18 hectares irrigated area, 2 hectares unirrigated area. and remaining 3 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kumhiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bansdih (NP) and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
