Kristan Toczko is a Canadian harpist from Moncton, New Brunswick, with an international career performing both classical and crossover music.
Early Life
Toczko began playing harp at age nine. She majored in Harp Performance at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University and at the Yale School of Music.
Career
Toczko has performed as a concerto soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Kingston Symphony, and Bathurst Chamber Music Festival. She has also played with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Jalisco Philharmonia, and the Beijing Symphony Orchestra.
Her festival participation includes Ottawa Chamberfest, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Rio Harp Festival in Brazil, Aspen Music Festival, Lucerne Festival Academy, and the Banff Centre for the Arts. Toczko has performed with artists such as Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, Evanescence, Lindsey Stirling, and Sarah McLachlan.
Toczko's recordings cover various genres[1][2], including classical, rock[3], film music, and video game music. Her debut album, Rock Echoes (2024), was listed on the Billboard Classical Crossover[4][5] chart for the weeks of February 24, 2024 and March 2, 2024.
