Kristýna Ryška (née Maléřová, also known as Podzimková; born 1 May 1985) is a Czech actress. She is known for her role in czech TV show Ulice as Thea Nekonečná.
Life and career
She was born in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm where she also grew up. Since very early on she started taking acting classes. Thanks to that, she got into Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava where she gratuated.
Her film debut happened in 2008 for German director's movie Absurdistan, a year later she got the role of Thea Nekonečká in czech tv show Ulice on TV Nova. She also became famous for her roles in Metanol and in TV show Zlatá labuť where she plays Irena Mašková.[4]
She debuted in Absurdistan as one of the main roles. Since 2009 she got to play Thea Nekonečná in Czech TV show Ulice until she quit in 2013 to pursue her carrier.[5] In 2018 she played in Metanol which was inspired by the Methanol affair that happened in 2012 in The Czech Republic. Year later she portrayed another main character, this time in psychological thriller Poslouchej[6] and she also got to play a love interest of married man in romcom Bábovky that was created by the same named bestseller book written by Radka Třeštíková. In 2022 she portrayed Vlasta in The King of Šumava: The Phantom of the Dark Land[7]
In 2023 she started portraying Irena Mašková in historical drama called Zlatá labuť[8]
She was part of the Těšín Theatre in 2004–2009. After that she was also part of Theatre in Celetná, then Studio Hrdinů and since 2015 she's part of D21 Theatre[9]
With musician Ondřej Fencl she started popularizing poetry in the form of poetry evenings.[10]
Personal life
Born in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. After graduating from conservatory she spent couple of years in Český Těšín, then moved to Prague because of filming Ulice and moved back to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm during Covid.
She was married to Czech screenwriter Matěj Podzimek. They divorced in 2019.
In 2022 she got married to Jan Ryška with whom she has a son named Antonín.[11]
