Kris Kylven is a French producer, composer, electronic drummer, and DJ of Corsican, Arabian, and Canadian descent.[1] He is known as pioneer of the psychedelic trance genre and has worked on a variety of records throughout his career, ranging from electro/industrial to ambient to psy-trance.[2]

In 1992, he became deeply involved in electronic music and has continued to work within various styles ever since.[3] In 1995, Kris became a pioneer of Goa/psychedelic trance with some of his notable projects, including Syb Unity Nettwerk, Odds, UX, and Element Over Nature. https://uesmag.com/en/kris-kylven-iinterview/ In 1996 Kris formed ‘Ultimate Experience’ (UX) in collaboration with Pete Martin. Their debut album, "Ultimate Experience" gained acclaim for its fusion of psychedelic trance and techno sounds. It was met with great success worldwide, appearing on over 30 different compilations and being released in 1997 by Dragonfly Records, a label founded by Youth of ‘Killing Joke’[4]

Kris has been credited with influencing the Goa trance genre and bringing darker elements of trance music to the forefront with their use of rock and industrial influences. Throughout his career, Kris has held various roles in different musical groups. He has been a drummer and remixer in Killing Joke and a remixer and co-arranger for The 69 Eyes. Kris collaborated with Juno Reactor in 2014 for live shows and studio support as drummer and remixer.

His work has helped shape the evolution of electronic music over the years, and his contributions to various projects have left a lasting impact on the industry. Although Kris still plays live and DJs worldwide[5], he is currently focused on his solo electro/techno project, The Dark Prince. In 2022, Kris (aka The Dark Prince) created a video and EBM remix 'Relax your body' for French artist Jean-Luc Verna[6]
