Konstantinos George Derpanis (born August 15, 1975) is a Canadian computer scientist specializing in computer vision. He is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University and a research scientist at the Samsung AI Centre in Toronto. His work focuses on visual motion analysis, human motion understanding, deep learning, and 3D vision.
Education
Derpanis earned a BSc (Honours) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 2000. He obtained his MSc in Computer Science from York University in 2003, co-supervised by Professors John Tsotsos and Richard Wildes. He received his PhD from York University in 2010 under the supervision of Professor Richard Wildes.
He conducted postdoctoral research at the GRASP Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania from 2010 to 2012, working with Professor Kostas Daniilidis.
