Konrad Bicher (born 31 July 1991) is an American entrepreneur and real estate mogul based in New York City. He is best known for revolutionizing the Airbnb rental market with his real estate firm Nomad Enterprise. Bicher, a self-made millionaire, is known as The Wolf of Airbnb (a reference to The Wolf of Wallstreet) for his advancements in the real estate market and for advocating against the exploitation of slumlords who force hazardous settings on the city's people/tenants.[1]
Early life and education
Bicher was born in Austin, Texas, on July 31, 1991. He was adopted by an Amish/Mennonite family and grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he attended a private school and completed eighth grade.
Career
Prior to venturing into the real estate industry, Bicher worked at his father’s company, but at the age of 21 left due to religious differences. He then moved to New York City in 2012 and began working with Jack Glass, a former New York City Apartments Brokerage owner, and real estate agent. He learned the ropes of the industry under him and then a year later, parted ways in order to start his entrepreneurial journey.[2]
Bicher founded Nomad Enterprise in 2013, which specializes in the Airbnb rental sector. This company was started to capitalize on booming trends and eventually revolutionize them. Bicher transitioned his business and made over $12 million through Airbnb properties in less than five years, and has teamed with some of New York City's greatest architectural firms, including Trimworks Inc.[3]
Bicher has just entered the RV Park and Camping market, where he is aiming to create state-of-the-art RV parks around the country.[4] He's also expanding his hotel network, Konrad Hotel, and Resorts, and is currently working on the company's second resort in Bali, Indonesia, which is set to open in 2023.
Controversy
Bicher is accused of running illegal short-term rentals in New York City. He has also been targeted over similar issues in about 20 other cases.
