Klinge Corporation is an American manufacturer of refrigeration systems.[1][2][3][4] The company is based in York, Pennsylvania.[5][6][7]

History

Klinge Corporation was founded in 1984 by Hans Klinge.[8][9][10] It was once a division of York International's Transport Refrigeration Equipment business before establishing as a separate company in 1984.[11][12] The company was founded by Paul Klinge, and its history dates back to the 1960s, when he founded Paul Klinge A/S in Denmark.[13][14] In 1976, it expanded into the reefer container business and became the European partner of York Refrigeration.[13] Later, Klinge acquired York's refrigeration equipment business and established a manufacturing plant in Langeskov, Denmark.[13] Langeskov plant was acquired by Thermo King in 1993.[13] For his contributions, Paul Klinge was awarded the Danfoss Prize and King Frederik IX's Recognition Prize.[13] Henrik Klinge has been president of the company since 1986.[11][15]

In 2011, Klinge acquired the containerized transport and storage intellectual property rights from Danish ultra-low-temperature refrigeration and thawing system manufacturer, Norfrig Equipment.[16][17][18] In 2018, the company was named as Eastern Pennsylvania's Exporter of the Year by the Small Business Administration.[11] In 2019, Klinge expanded into pharmaceutical industry.[19]

Klinge Corporation offers a wide range of refrigeration systems and related products for marine, offshore, and industrial applications.[20][21][22][23] The company has 31 thousand square meter production facility in York, Pennsylvania.[24]
