Kixx is a lubricant brand launched in 2005 by GS Caltex Corporation, a South Korean energy and chemical company. Initially, Kixx was primarily an engine oil brand focused on passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. In 2017, Kixx repositioned itself as a global lubricant brand encompassing automotive and industrial lubricant solutions.
Today, Kixx is one of the largest lubricant providers in Korea and has won in the Korea First Brand Awards' lubricant category for seven consecutive years.
History
Origins and Production
In 2005, GS Caltex introduced Kixx as a passenger car, commercial vehicle and motorcycle lubricant provider. Kixx products begin their manufacturing process at GS Caltex's Yeosu Base Oil Plant, which houses the fourth largest single-site refinery in the world and are then completed at the company's Incheon Lubricant Factory.
International Expansion
In February 2010, GS Caltex established GS Caltex India Private Ltd., followed by Russian representative office in 2012. These moves laid the foundation for the global distribution of Kixx products.
In 2017, Kixx sought to solidify itself as a global lubricant provider by expanding into industrial as well as automotive lubricant solutions.
Further Developments
In recent years, Kixx has explored the development of hybrid and electric vehicle engine oils, launching Kixx HYBRID[1] in 2020 and Kixx EV[2] in 2021.
Also in 2022, Kixx launched plant-based engine oil Kixx BIO1, biodegradable hydraulic fluid Kixx RD BIO[3], biodegradable chain saw oil Kixx Chain BIO[4] and eco-conscious refrigeration compressor oil Kixx RF P85.[5]
Awards
- 2023 – Won Social i-Award 2023 Korea[6] prizes for the Kixx Facebook page[1] and the Kixx product brand blog.[2][7]
- 2017~2023 – Consecutive winner for seven years in the Korea's First Brand Awards' lubricant category[8].[3][9]
Slogan
In 2017, Kixx announced its new brand slogan "All Ways with You". The slogan marked the company's expansion into industrial as well as automotive lubricants.[4]
