Kiran Raj (born July 5, 1993) is an Indian actor, model, entrepreneur, and philanthropist known for his work in Kannada and Hindi television as well as Kannada and Telugu cinema. Standing at a height of 5′ 8″ (1.73 m), he gained recognition through his roles in kannadati and won best actor 3 times in a row awards at Anubhandha awards[1] . He has also made notable appearances in popular Hindi shows such as "Heroes," "Love By Chance," and "Tu Aashiqui"[2]. Kiran Raj, a passionate individual, is actively involved in various ventures, including owning a restaurant "DOT" and establishing the "Enlight Foundation" for philanthropic endeavors.[3]
Early life
Kiran Raj was born on 05 July 1993 in Mysore, Karnataka, India to Suresh MS and Lalitha Suresh. His father is an Ex-Army officer, while his mother is a homemaker. He has a sister named Pooja. Kiran completed his schooling in Delhi before moving to his native Mysore. He pursued his studies and graduated from Alva's College, Moodabidri, Dakshina Kannada[4]. He holds a degree in film making from Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA) and has completed diplomas in TV presentation, voicing, and acting. Kiran also gained experience by interning at a popular news channel.
Cinema
Kiran Raj made his foray into cinema by acting alongside Kannada actor Ananth Nag in the film 'March 22'[5]. He then made his Kannada debut with the film 'Watchman'. He also appeared in the Kannada movie 'Asathoma Sadhgamaya'[6] opposite Radhika Chetan and Sukrutha Nag. Kiran Raj has recently signed a new action film called Ronny- The ruler which is in progress.[7]
Television
Kiran Raj made his TV debut in Hindi television with popular shows like 'Heroes', 'Love by Chance', 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai', and 'Tu Aashiqui', garnering immense popularity. His portrayal of Monty Shetty in 'Tu Aashiqui' gained attention in a short span, He has also acted in shows like 'Crime Patrol' and 'Aashayein[8]' on DD National[9] [10]. Kiran later moved to Bengaluru and participated in the reality show 'Life Super Guru'[11][12]. He also appeared in a dance show on Suvarna TV. Kiran played the male lead role in the serial 'Devathe'[13], portraying the character Nitin. He also appeared in two more shows titled 'Gundayena Hendthi[14][15]' and 'Chandramukhi' as a lead actor. However, Kiran gained immense popularity and became a household name for his portrayal of Nakul in the show 'Kinnari'[16]. He played the role of a rich business tycoon Harsha in the popular daily soap 'Kannadati'.[17][18]
Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy
Apart from his acting career, Kiran Raj is an entrepreneur and owns a restaurant called 'DOT' (Diet on Table) in Bangalore[19]. He is also actively involved in philanthropy and has started a foundation called 'Enlight Foundation'. The foundation focuses on providing education to homeless children and building a community for senior citizens.
