Yohanes Kiki Mirano, or better known as Kiki Mirano, is an Indonesian musician, drummer, and creative director.

Musical Career

Kiki Mirano started his music career while in high school at Loyola College and became more serious about it after founding a band with his friends from University of California, called Esnanas. The initial lineup of the band included Paul Gary Martin, David Moki Marino, Vanessa Golding, Jonathan Leys, Greg Franklin, Anto, and Kiki Mirano. The band played many venues and shared bills with many famous Indonesian bands with alternative rock themes at that time.

Changed of line-ups happened several times in Esnanas, and by the time the band released a single titled "Kunang-Kunang" on Indie Ten|Indie Ten 2 album by Sony Music Indonesia, all the members were already Indonesia musicians. [1]: Leo Napitupulu (guitar), Rachel Vla (vocal), Wahyu Wijoyo (guitar), and Doni Johan (bass) (note: Doni Johan later founded and became the singer for the band Seventeen_(Indonesian_band) and the bass position was later replaced by Brian Azhar until the band became inactive in 2006).

With Esnanas, Kiki Mirano also released a self-titled album "Esnanas" with BMG Indonesia. The band disbanded at the end of 2005, and each member continued their careers in music and other creative endeavors.

Later, Kiki Mirano formed a duo called Cannonball with Siska Salman, collaborating with French producer Dominic C and independent label Supreme Records.

The band released several singles and albums:

  • Single ‘Kemarin’ - Supreme Records (2007)
  • Mini Album (EP) Revolusi Rock & Roll - Supreme Records (2008).

Apart from playing in bands, Kiki Mirano has been active as a producer and additional musician on several works by Indonesian musicians, several of his career highlights are becoming and additional drummer for the band Sheila on 7[2], as a recording drummer for Iwan Fals on the song ‘Senandung Lirih’ written by Eross Candra, and on Pongki Barata's single ‘Untuk Dikenang’ released in 2022.

Other Careers

In the youth culture scene, Kiki Mirano partnered with Eross Candra of Sheila on 7, Ipul Bahri of The Rain, and Fahmi Budiman (2001-2010), designing and running clothing brand Rebel Stars which had worldwide distribution.

Another career of Kiki Mirano is as one of the creative directors and writer/copywriter at Intima Kreativa, a creative branding agency in Indonesia. [3]

Personal Life

Kiki Mirano married Siska Salman, the vocalist of Cannonball, in 2008. From this marriage, they have one child, Zia Abrarsyah Mirano. Their marriage ended after rumors of the wife's infidelity surfaced.[4][5]

On April 29, 2011, Kiki Mirano married actress and celebrity Sheila Marcia who already had a daughter named Leticia. They left the music and entertainment careers and decided to move and build their family in Yogyakarta. They established and engaged in several entrepreneur businesses outside the entertainment industry[6]

Unfortunately, their marriage ended in 2016 amid controversial domestic violence allegations that were never proven, suspected to be publicity-related news to benefit one party.[7]
The court awarded custody of their two children to Sheila Marcia based on a unilateral recommendation from Arist Merdeka Sirait of the independent institution Indonesian Private Commission for Child Protection (Komnas Anak).[8]

This court verdict was objected by Kiki Mirano's lawyers, claiming it lacked objectivity as the recommendation was made by Komnas Anak without sufficient fact and psychological assessment.

In 2018, for undisclosed reasons by Kiki Mirano, and with the assistance of the Women Empowerement and Child Protection Service (DP3A) of Central Java, custody of their two children, Nathanael Jedd Mirano and Precious Brianna Mirano, was handed over to Kiki Mirano.
Sheila Marcia, who did not attend the invitation from DP3A Central Java to sign the verdict, instead expressed her agreement with this decision through a WhatsApp message to DP3A Central Java.

After being under the care of Kiki Mirano for almost 5 years, it is suspected that in late March 2022, Sheila Marcia took both their children to Bali without a written or formal agreement. No disclosure made yet by both parties
