Kiii (Born February 1st 1994) is an American recording artist. Based in Los Angeles California, signed to his own independent label and publishing company TSE4VR. His debut album Drug Dealers and Time Machines was released February 1st, 2020.
Early life and education
Kiii was born in Sacramento, California. Following his parent's split at birth, Kiii's family life was heavily influenced by musicians and influential local figures, rapping and producing as early as 6 years old. His father introduced him to Gangster Rap, Funk, and alternative rock, while his mother listened to Neo-soul R&B music. Building his own computer, Kiii was able to record his first song at age 16, soon performing in open-mic events throughout High school at Sacramento Charter High School, promoting his mixtapes. Getting into 14 different colleges including a full ride at University of California, Berkeley, he decided his other competing offer and graduated with his Bachelor's degree in African American Studies (Minoring in Music History) at University of California, Los Angeles; in June 2018.
Musical career
2018-2020: Career beginnings, Drug Dealers And Time Machines
On February 1st 2020, Kiii released his debut Album, Drug Dealers and Time Machines included involvement from several musicians; Notably Nickelus F. This resulted in the booking of an interview from a CW 31 news segment Good Day Sacramento, touching on Kiii's content regarding his music; addressing the community of Sacramento in relation to the local gang wars and social climate at the time.[1] Kiii's main claim was that his album addressed all of the current events that took place in the United States at the time (George Floyd protests)
Activism and Politics
Kiii has played a significant role to his city since a young age, participating in the Youth council for the City of Sacramento as well as involvement with AmeriCorps, also announcing a potential interest in becoming a public official.
