The Khionotaterrhonons were an Indigenous people historically living on the southern shore of Lake Huron. The Khionotaterrhonons were closely related to the Wendat/Wyandot people and the Tobacco People. It is believed they spoke a dialect of the Wendat Language. They were mostly known for their agricultural practices including the cultivation of maize, beans, and squash }}

History

During the early contact period, in the 17th century, the Khionotaterrhonons suffered significant losses due to conflicts with the Iroquois particulary the Mohawk, Onondaga, and Seneca nations. These conflicts, combined with the devastating impact of the European diseases and warfare led to the disperse and eventual decline of the Khionotaterrhonon people. [1]
