Kherkhata is a small village of 343 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kherkhata depends on BUNDI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 12.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kherkhata is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kherkhata's pin code is 323024[3], and village code is 02706700. The area of Kherkhata is segregated as 120 hectares irrigated area, 28 hectares unirrigated, the 116 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 65 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bundi to sell oil and make their living.
