Ken Baker is an author of children's books.[1], a technical freelance writer[2] , teacher of children's books writing classes and presenter at writing conferences[3]. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1987[4].

Children's Books

In 2001, HarperCollins published Baker's first children's book, Brave Little Monster (illustrations by Geoffrey Hayes), which tells the story of young monster afraid to go to bed at night because of the children hiding in his room.[5] Various sources have acknowledged the book as a resource for parents to help children deal with fear[6] at bedtime[7][8] and Halloween[9] In Fall of 2012, Two Lions (imprint of Amazon Children's Publishing) published Baker's Old MacDonald had a Dragon (illustrations by Christopher Santoro)[10] and Cow Can't Sleep (illustrations by Steve Gray)[11].[12][13] In Spring of 2019, Christy Ottaviano Books (imprint of Henry Holt Books for Young Readers) published Baker's How to Care for Your T-Rex (illustrations by David Coverly), which offers the do's and don'ts of taking care of your own pet T-Rex.[14][15][16][17]

Other Publications

  • The Friend magazine published Baker's faith-based children's story Whoa, Blaze in July 2002.[18]
