Kay Le Seelleur Ara (born 1941) is a Jersey based contemporary artist. Le Seelleur Ara studied at the Bath Academy of Art (1958-62). She was taught by notable artists such as Howard Hodgkin, Adrian Heath, Henry Cliffe and Gillian Ayres. She has won the JJ Fox International Art Prize[1] twice. Once in 1986 and 2017. She has also twice been runner up. She has also exhibited work at the Royal West of England Academy, Royal Watercolour Society, Jersey Arts Centre and the Barbican Centre in London In 2017 she collaborated with her daughter, Rachel Ara, a London based conceptual artist, on an installation for the Barbican Centre London called "American Beauty (A Trump L'Oeil)"[2] [3] In 2019 she did a drawing project on Instagram where she posted a drawing every day for a year.
