Kathodi is a small village of 5618 hectares in Jaisalmer Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kathodi depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kathodi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Kathodi's pin code is 345001[4], and village code is 02025500. The area of Kathodi is segregated as 2 hectares irrigated area, the 5127 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 489 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kathodi is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 895 and has total administration over 154 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
