Katera is a small village of 345 hectares in Dungla Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Katera depends on Bari Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 35.18% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Katera is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Katera's pin code is 312404[4], and village code is 03646800. The area of Katera is segregated as 66.18 hectares irrigated area, 127.93 hectares unirrigated, the 119.31 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 31.76 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bari Sadri and Chittorgarh to sell ghee and make their living.
