Kate Robertson is a former advertising executive,[1] the co-author of 'How to Make a Difference', [2] and co-founder of One Young World', [3] which is a leading forum for global youth leadership. [4]

Early Life and Career

Kate studied law at the University of Cape Town, whereafter she moved to London in 1986 to work in the advertising industry.[5] In 2006 she was appointed UK group chairman of Havas Worldwide, and thereafter Co-Global President in 2013. [5] In 2015 Kate left Havas in order to focus exclusively on One Young World, the organisation she had founded with former Havas CEO David Jones. [6]

One Young World

In 2009 Kate co-founded One Young World with David Jones, the then CEO of Havas Worldwide.[7] One Young World is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation that seeks to identify, support and connect young leaders from every country in the world, to solve society's most pressing challenges. [8] The organisation hosts an annual summit, which has been attended by industry leaders and celebrities, acting in the capacity of 'Counsellors' to the summit attendees -- notable One Young World Counsellors have included: former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan; actress Emma Watson; the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex|Meghan Markle; Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau; former US president Bill Clinton; nobel laurete Muhammad Yunus; the Desmond Tutu; Bob Geldof; former Irish President Mary Robinson; former German Chancellor Angela Merkel; Sir Richard Branson; Jamie Oliver; Jack Dorsey; and many others.   • Named 'Advertising Woman of the Year' by Women In Marketing 2012 and Advertising Icon by Advertising Week in 2014.[12]

Personal Life

Kate is married to film producer Bruce Robertson, and has a daughter named Ella.[5]
