Kataria is a small village of 123 hectares in Bansdih Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kataria depends on Ballia (MB), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sourcesOne canal. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Kataria's pin code is 277210[4], and village code is 09216400. The area of Kataria is segregated as 96 hectares irrigated area, 21 hectares unirrigated area. and remaining 5 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kataria has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Ballia (MB) and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
