Kashish Methwani (born 09 January 2001), is an Indian beauty pageant title holder, who was crowned Miss International India 2023[1] after being the winner of Glamanand Supermodel India 2022[2] at the age of 21. She was also awarded the best NCC cadet in India award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi[3] in 2021.
Early life and education
Kashish Methwani was born on 9 January 2001 in Ulhasnagar, Mumbai. She belongs to a humble Sindhi family. Her father is from Uttar Pradesh and worked for the army, and her mother is a teacher in Army Public School Pune. She attended Army Public School, Pune for schooling and then Pune University for further education.
Apart from modeling, she is a Bharatnatyam dancer, tabla player, national-level pistol shooter, debater, neuroscience enthusiast, and the awardee of All India Best Cadet Trophy by the Prime Minister. During the lockdown, she also started her own NGO to help patients with plasma and blood donation and raise awareness about the same.
Pageantry
She started her pageant journey quite early in life, as a 7-year-old, participating in a local pageant called the "Summer Princess". From that day to winning the title of Glamanand Supermodel India 2022, the journey was a roller coaster for her, with many wins and losses, but a few things that remained constant were her grit, ambition, and the desire to not settle for a life less than what she deserved.
As a winner of Glamanand Supermodel India 2022, she was crowned Miss International India 2023, and was supposed to compete on the international stage in Tokyo, but due to politics at play and reasons beyond control, she was not made aware that the pageant did not belong to Glamanand and had already been taken over by the Divine group[4]. There were rumors that she was promised the Miss Grand crown instead, and would be going for Miss Grand International in Vietnam in 2023. However, that too got taken away from her very soon, when the news came about a new pageant being held for Miss Grand International India. She was kept in the dark and posted instagram stories about facing depression during this time of deceit and hurt which was caused due to money politics.
But despite the tough times in her pageantry career, she seems to keep going strong and has risen back from the dark times, as visible on her instagram profile.[5]
