Karas is a small village of 1004 hectares in Iglas Tehsil in Aligarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karas depends on Iglas (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Karas's pin code is 204101[4], and village code is 01404700. The area of Karas is segregated as 801 hectares irrigated area, 35 hectares unirrigated area. remaining 1.5 hectare area not available for cultivation.
