Karanpur is a small village of 218 hectares in Sapotra Tehsil in Karauli district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karanpur depends on TODABHIM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 103.92% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Karanpur is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Karanpur's pin code is 322243[4], and village code is 01180500. The area of Karanpur is segregated as 103.92 hectares irrigated area, 50.44 hectares unirrigated, the 32.01 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 31.31 hectare area not available for cultivation.
