Kaoru Kusumi (楠見 薫, born June 19, 1967) is a Japanese actress from Wakayama Prefecture. She was a leading actress at the theater troupe Yūkisha from 1989 to 2001 and is currently represented by Ricomotion. Her husband is director, playwright, and actor Hirohito Goto.
Biography
Kusumi was a prominent actress at the theater troupe Yūkisha from 1989 to 2001, where she built a reputation as a leading actress. She later transitioned to television and film, and also produced her own theater productions.
She became well known for her role in the NHK serial drama Asa ga Kieta (2015–2016), where she portrayed a maid named Kano. Her catchphrase "ほんにほんに" ("honnī honnī") became widely popular, gaining attention from audiences.[1] She has appeared in 10 consecutive NHK morning dramas, including titles such as 『Futari Kko』 (1996), 『Asa ga Kieta』 (2015), and 『Boogie Woogie』 (2023), becoming known as one of the "hidden queens of Asadora" (morning drama).[2][3]
Personal Life
Kusumi graduated from Wakayama Prefectural Naka High School. She has a blood type of B, stands at 163 cm tall, and weighs 54 kg. Her hobbies include website creation and hiking, and her special skills are swimming and softball.
