Kansas Wesleyan University is a private institution of higher education that adheres to the Christian faith. It was established in 1886, and now it is connected to the United Methodist Church. KWU has a total enrollment of roughly 800 students, with approximately 700 of those students residing on its 28-acre campus. The Higher Learning Commission has granted accreditation to the educational institution.

The academic curriculum of the university provides a foundation in the liberal arts and consists of more than 27 main programmes that provide degrees such as an MBA, a BA, a BS, and a BSN. In addition, students may earn degrees in emergency management, criminal justice, and master's degrees in business administration via the university's online programme (MBA). The typical number of pupils enrolled in a given class is 16, resulting in a pupil-to-instructor ratio of 11 to 1.

More than 30 different clubs and organisations are available to students at Kansas Wesleyan. These include a student-run television and radio station on campus, as well as several possibilities in the areas of music and sports. The Kansas Wesleyan University Debate and Forensics Team participates in national competitions against big, state colleges and has garnered more than fifty national championships in a variety of competition categories.
