Kano Laboratories is an American manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals including its signature brand Kroil [1] well as Aerokroil, Silikroil, Penephite, Exrust, Kreen, Floway, Pyrolube, Microil, and Super Lube products. [2] The company is known for producing high-quality penetrating oils and lubricants for professionals across a wide variety of industries.

History

Founded by Thomas O'Kane in Chicago in 1939, O'Kane created a formula for penetrating oil designed to penetrate into the smallest crevices to free rusted bolts, nuts, and parts. The formula was named Kroil from the term Creeping Oil and is well known as The Oil that Creeps.[3]

Initially blended in a garage using a washing machine, the business quickly grew, and the founder decided to relocate operations to Nashville, Tennessee where the company's headquarters remain today.[4]

In 2024 Kano Laboratories acquired Synco Chemical Corporation, the manufacturer of Super Lube, a line of high-performance synthetic food-grade greases and lubricants.[5]

Products

Kano Laboratories offers a range of products designed for industrial maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), including:

KROIL Original Penetrant: Known for its ability to penetrate the smallest openings, threads, or crevices to loosen frozen metal parts.

Super Lube: A line of high-performance synthetic food-grade greases and lubricants designed for food & beverage production, pharmaceuticals, farm & ag, and various applications requiring environmental protection and consumer safety.
