Kanhaiya Prasad (15 May 1937 – 26 August 2019) was an Indian author known for researching and writing the book "Raxaul: Atit aur Vartman" on evolution of urban settlements in British India.

Early life

Kanhaiya Prasad was born in India in Marhaura, Bihar. At early age, he moved to Raxaul along with his parents where he was raised and attended school education.

Education and Career

Kanhaiya Babu was educated at Hazarimal High School Raxaul, Munshi Singh College Motihari and B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University. He worked as a teacher in Hazarimal High School Raxaul from 1955 to 1997 [1].

Works

Kanhaiya Prasad wrote the book "Raxaul: Atit aur Vartman" which was published in 1979. The work is a reference book on history of Raxaul town which is considered to be a unique work on evolution of urban settlement in the region and the role played by the British officers therein[2],[3] .
