Kamari Doyle (born 1 August 2005) is a professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League club Southampton and England under-18s. He was recognised as one of The Guardian’s Next Generation 2021.[1].

Career

Doyle joined the Southampton academy in 2013, aged 7[2]. He was part of the Southampton team that won the under-18s Premier League South in 2021-2022[3]. In that season, he scored five goals in one game against Birmingham City in August 2021[4], and scored the opening goal in Southampton’s national final defeat to Manchester City[5][6].

Doyle made his B team debut for Southampton in February 2021 against Manchester United, aged 15[7]. He was named in the starting line-up for all of the club’s fixtures in the EFL trophy in the 2021-2022 season[8][9][10].

Doyle signed his first professional deal with the club in 2022, aged 17[11].

He was named in the first team squad for the Southampton’s FA Cup tie against Grimsby Town in March 2023[12].

International career

Doyle is eligible to play for both England and Jamaica. He first represented England at under-17 level in a friendly against Scotland[13] and scored in their 3-0 victory over Norway in June 2022[14]. He has also played for England under-18s[15]
