Kamal Kiran Raju Yerra is an Indian-American teen prodigy from Fort Mill, South Carolina.[1] At the age of 15, He is known for earning a double Masters degree at the age of 15 making him the only person in the United States to earn two Masters degrees at that age.[2]

Early life

Kamal Yerra was born on August 31, 2005, to Ravi Yerra and Durgi Yerra in Secundarabad, India and his family origins are from Bellampalli, Telangana India. The family relocated to the United States in the San Francisco Bay Area then to Atlanta followed by Charlotte Area and finally settling in Fort Mill, South Carolina.[3]

Education

Kamal Yerra earned his Bachelor's of Science (BS) in Business at the age of 13 from Excelsior College in New York graduated on June 21 2019. Prior to his Bachelor's, he applied for High School online and completed his High School education in a few months from Penn Foster High School.[4]

A year later at the age of 14, Kamal completed his Masters of Science (MS) in Information System from the University of the Cumberlands, graduated on August 27th 2020.[5] He earned a second Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Don Bosco University in India at the age of 15, graduated on 5th October 2020[6] His brother Shashi Yerra is also a teen prodigy. He earned his Bachelor's of Science (BS) in Business at the age of 15 in 2019 from Excelsior College as well. Since then, he has been working on his Masters degree.[7] Kamal Yerra is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) - Information Systems Security at the University of the Cumberlands which will make him one of the youngest people to do so.[8]

Career

Both Kamal Yerra and Shashi Yerra are currently working together with NthEye LLC to develop a product for online proctoring software and solutions which will assist universities to conduct examinations online in a secure manner.[9] Kamal is currently working on a book titled Think Differently- The Way I did It. The book is about assisting readers on how to manage their study time and apply to universities based on their budget.[10]

Personal life

Kamal lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He has two siblings; a brother, Shashi Yerra, and a sister Nidhi Yerra who was born in California in 2013.[11] Nidhi is also a well known Telangana folk dancer[12]
