Kalau is a small village of 1319 hectares in Shergarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kalau depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kalau is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kalau's pin code is 342021[4], and village code is 01971300. The area of Kalau is segregated as 205 hectares irrigated area, 933 hectares unirrigated, the 157 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 24 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
