KMG Drilling & Services (KMGDS) is a quasi-state company based in Kazakhstan that specializes in drilling operations. The company was established in 2008 under the name LLP "Teniz Burgylau" and was a subsidiary of KazMunayTeniz. In 2014, it was renamed KMG Drilling & Services after KazMunayGas acquired a majority of its shares.[2]
The company provides services for the drilling and construction of oil wells, primarily operating in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.[3]
Satti JUDR
The Satti Jack-Up Drilling Rig (JUDR), owned by KMG Drilling & Services, was constructed in Kazakhstan and modified in 2021 to increase its load capacity. The rig is designed to drill oil and gas wells to depths exceeding 6,000 meters. It is currently being used in the Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP) project, which is operated by British Petroleum Absheron Limited.[4]
KMG Drilling & Services is involved in this project through a joint operations agreement with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. [5]
