Jyot Jeet is a Chairperson of the Disaster Management Cell with SBS Foundation.[1]. Jeet is also a Disaster Management Specialist[2]. For last 25 years, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal has rendered medical aids for the underprivileged people of the country. He is a social activist who has also worked as an independent journalist for SBS during the covid-emergency[3]. The value of humanity and citizen empowerment in human rights was identified in his early stage of life to generate a society of peace, equality, and equity. Jeet has also shown a great deal of admiration for the people who are working alongside the SBS Foundation[4].

Early Background and personal life

Jyot jeet was born to Jatinder Singh Shunty. He grew up at his vivek vihar residence. His father is the founder of SBS Foundation, a Padma Shri recipient and former Member of Legislative Assembly from Shahdara, in Delhi[5]. Jeet completed his Master of Science (MSc) in Disaster Management from Coventry University, West Midlands[6].

Biography

Jyot Jeet has successfully managed to operate multiple international campaigns while studying the causes of Disaster Management at Coventry University. #AmbulanceFirst and #ReserveLane4Ambulance were some of his initial successful campaigns that earned him nationwide support[7]. During the interview with BBC Radio 4, he stated that “The covid situation has gone from bad to worse, the system has collapsed, and the government wasn’t ready for it.”[8] Jeet has also worked to promote his own action and alliance with other organizations that work for human rights, writes Andrea Germanos for commondreams, strengthening citizens to exercise democratic values in a climate of respect, understanding, consensus, and reconciliation[9]. During the second wave of emergency, Baldev, who was driving the ambulance for the foundation, didn’t get to meet his family for six months[10], and the head of the Disaster Management Department of SBS foundation showed a great deal of support for the team members.

Social Work

Jeet has expanded and has been strongly driving the Emergency Services Project of AMBULANCE PILOT –A way to save lives by escorting ambulances, blood donors, organ transplant cases, etc.[11] Like any other social activist in India, the crisis was clear to Jyot Jeet. He told the reporters, "Day in and day out, we are surrounded by the smell of burning flesh, and the sounds of crying families"[12].

Award and Achievements

Jyot Jeet was felicitated at the Indian Television Awards 2021 on 14th February 2021 at Prime Focus, Film City in Mumbai[13] for the humanitarian services in collaboration with national celebrities[14]
