Junayed Ahmed Chowdhury (born 27 October 1979) is a Bangladeshi lawyer, author, and social development activist. [1]

Early life and education

Junayed Ahmed Chowdhury was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh where he completed his early education from Chittagong Cantonment Public School and College and Chittagong College. He received his LL. B. (Honours) from the University of London, and LL.M from the University of Chicago Law School. [2]


Junayed Ahmed Chowdhury is the Managing Partner of Vertex Chambers, Dhaka [3] and Vertex International Consulting, Sydney. [4] He is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh (Appellate Division), a Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, the United Kingdom (since 2003), and a registered foreign lawyer in New South Wales, Australia.[5] Legal practice review platforms e.g. Chambers and Partners [6] and Legal500 [7] recognized him as one of the leading lawyers in Bangladesh.

Personal life

Junayed Ahmed Chowdhury is married to Sajeda Farisa Kabir, a Bangladeshi Barrister and Advocate and a Solicitor of the New South Wales, Australia. [8] They have two children.


Junayed Ahmed Chowdhury is the author of the leading practitioner’s textbook on corporate tax law in Bangladesh, titled “Corporate Tax Law & Practice” (2015). [9] He has also co-authored the chapter of Butterworths Company Law Guide for Bangladesh [10]
