Julie Twyford is an American attorney. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Sciences from Boston College.[1] and a Juris Doctor from the Gonzaga University School of Law in 1979.[2]
Twyford has been honored as one of the Nation’s Top One Percent of Lawyers by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel[3]. She holds a perfect 10.0 “Superb” rating from Avvo.com.[4] Spokane Coeur D’Alene Living has repeatedly recognized her as one of the area’s Top Lawyers, most recently in its 2019 edition.

Education
After graduating from Branford High School in 1972, Julie Twyford attended Boston College[1] and earned her bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences. Julie attended Gonzaga University School of Law and received her juris doctor in 1979[2].
Career
Julie Twyford began her law career working as an intern in the public defender’s office in 1977. Once she passed the bar exam in 1979, she joined the office full-time, where she was the first female felony public defender and worked there until she became a partner at a local, well-respected firm, Evans, Craven, & Lackie. In 1990, Julie opened her own firm, Twyford Law Office, which is still operational[20]
Julie was a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) from its early years. Julie was on the board of governors for many years and held many officer positions and later became president in 2001[18]. Julie is still active in the organization.
In addition to her legal memberships, Julie Twyford sponsors a scholarship program named the Family History Scholarship, encouraging students to explore their ancestry and share the stories that helped to shape their heritage. This is a $1,000 scholarship that renews each year[21].
