Julian Nestor Escobar (Born December 12, 1987) is an American soccer player who is a midfielder for the Harrisburg Heat in the Major Arena Soccer League and for the United States Men’s Futsal National Team.

Early life

Born in Queens, New York. As a youth, he played for the following teams: Bolaños Soccer Academy, Woodhaven Soccer Club, New Rochelle Raiders, Storm Academy, and B.W. Gottschee. Julian attended Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School [1] from 2001 to 2005 and was a varsity soccer player all four years of high school. During his junior and senior year, he made the CHSAA Division-A All-Star Team. Junior Year, he broke the Crusader’s record for most goals in a single season scoring 33 Goals in 16 Games which still holds till this day.

College

Escobar attended LIU[2] Post from 2005–2008. During his freshman year in 2005, he appeared in 21 games with five starts, recorded six goals that included four game-winning goals. After freshman year, he entered the starting lineup permanently. In 2006 he played in 20 games, making 18 starts … tied for second in scoring with six goals and two assists. In 2007, he appeared in 17 games for the pioneers, making 16 starts and finished out the season with three goals and one assist, racking up seven points in total. In his senior year, Escobar racked up a total of 10 goals in 17 games.

Senior career

Baltimore Blast [3] , 2016-2017

Escobar played a short season with the Baltimore Blast in the Major Arena Soccer League[4] where he made 3 appearances.

Harrisburg Heat [5] , 2018-2020

After a short stint with the Baltimore Blast, Escobar was picked up by the Harrisburg Heat which also plays in the Major Arena Soccer League under head coach Pat Healey. Escobar has made 34 appearances and scored 13 goals in 2 Seasons.

International career

On January 24, 2016, Julian made his debut for the United States Men's Futsal National team in a friendly against Croatia. He has made 12 total appearances for the Futsal National Team and made the roster for the Concacaf’s Qualifying Championship which was to be played in May 2020 in Guatemala. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic the Concacaf’s Qualifying Championship was put on hold till May 2021.
