Judicaelle Irakoze, born April 14th, 1995, is a Burundian Feminist Organizer, writer, entrepreneur, and public intellectual. Her work concentrates on black feminisms/African feminism, Immigrant and refugee rights, Young African women’s entrepreneurship, Sexual and reproductive rights, and overall racial and gender equity.

Career

Judicaelle is the founder and Executive Director at Choose Yourself, a community organization working towards an Africa safe for women and girls. She is a prominent figure among African feminists of her generation. She is known for being disruptive, ungovernable, radical, and innovative. Her purpose-filled activism work has sparked national and global dialogue on gender-based violence, racial equity, economic and social development of the African continent, and the global diaspora through her website, twitter.

Judicaelle works as a facilitator engaged in critical analysis and collective organizing part of different movements. She has moderated different conversations, spoken on big stages and global conferences like Horasis Global, a gathering of business leaders to , high-level meetings at the European Union add public engagements at different universities like the Gender School at Tufts University

Judicaelle is the 2019 European commission young leaders on Migration and the G20 young global Changer on gender equality at the Global Solutions Initiatives class of 2019.

Judicaelle is also a recognized writer whose writings have started a global dialogue on decolonization. She has written for big publications like Essence, Press herald and is a regular contributor at African feminisms.
