Joshua Hoffet, born Joshua-Heilman Hoffet, (5 May 1901 - disappeared 21 April 1945) was a French paleontologist best remembered for his expeditions to Laos, which discovered the first known remains of dinosaurs in the country, which belonged to what is now known as Tangvayosaurus.
Biography
Joshua-Heilman Hoffet was born in Courcelles-Chaussy, France on 5 May 1901 and his brother Frédéric Hoffet, akin to their father, became a pastor, while Joshua Hoffet was sent to be a carpenter's apprentice. He disliked the job and instead decided to pursue a career in the natural sciences (specifically palaeontology and geology) and he earned a graduate degree at a college in Nancy. He died in 1945.
