Josephine Angelini (born 1975 in Ashland, Massachusetts) is an American young adult writer, best known for her fantasy romance novels, such as her trilogies Starcrossed and Worldwalker. Her work is published by American Publisher MacMillan.

Her debut series Starcrossed takes inspiration from and adapts the tale of Helen of Troy.

Early life

Josephine Angelini is the daughter of a farmer and the youngest of eight siblings.[1]

She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of Arts in theatre, where she studied Applied Theatre and focused on the classics.[2] Angelini lives with her husband Juan Alberto, a screenwriter, in Los Angeles, California. She initially moved to California to also become a screenwriter, but followed her passion for writing whilst working as a waitress.[3] In 2011 she released her first novel of the same-named trilogy Starcrossed.

The series has been described as a Percy Jackson for teenage girls.[4] A film adaptation of the trilogy might be coming in the near future.[5]
