Joseph E. Varley (born Joseph Edward Varley on 19 April 1984) is a British television producer, known for co-creating the British TV Dating show Dinner Date[1]).
Early life and education
Varley was born in Brixton and raised in Kingston upon Thames, London. He was educated at Tiffin School and Exeter University, where he obtained a first class honours in Drama.
Career
Varley first worked for Hat Trick Productions, where he was involved in the production of such BAFTA-winning shows as Fonejacker, Facejacker, Murder in Successville, and Room101. It was also here, where he co-created Dinner Date.[2] Other credits include Drunk History UK version for Comedy Central, viral hit Little Prankers for BBC Three, Britain Today Tonight for Channel 4 and Alan Carr: Chatty Man (C4).[3]
He has worked for prestigious TV production companies such as Endemol Shine Group’s Zeppotron, All3Media’s Objective Media Group, Tiger Aspect Productions, Fulwell73 and Studio71,[4] before setting up his own production company in 2018 called Brown Bred productions.[5]
