Jorge Penné (born March 18, 1986, in Mexico City) is a Mexican caricaturist, known for his precise and distinctive style. Since 2022, he has been a regular contributor to The New Yorker[1]. He has also published in international newspapers such as El Universal, Excelsior[2], Esquire, Le Temps, and Le Monde[3]. Since 2012, he has produced a recurring comic strip about digital childhood for "Animal Político"[4]. Furthermore, he has been an active member of Cartooning for Peace since 2016[5].

Career

Jorge Penné initiated his career as a cartoonist in 2008 when he began contributing to the Mexican newspaper El Universal. In 2012, he started publishing a regular comic strip for "Animal Político", focusing on the character "Ramón," who narrates the experiences of growing up in the digital era. He has been honored with selections in three editions of the World Press Cartoon. Since 2022, he has been a regular contributor to The New Yorker[1]
