Jonas Paul Eyewear is an American company in the children eyewear industry based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The brand two main product offerings are prescription kids eyeglasses and prescription teen glasses.[1] The company ranked No. 166 on the 2019 Inc. 5000.[2]

History

Ben and Laura Harrison founded Jonas Paul Eyewear in 2013 after their son, Jonas, who was born with a rare eye condition called Peters Anomaly that rendered him blind. Twenty-one surgeries later, Jonas' vision was restored to a functional level. However, finding glasses for Jonas was a challenge and the inspiration for Ben and Laura to launch Jonas Paul Eyewear.[3][4]

The Harrisons self-funded the venture for two years before securing a seed round of investment in 2015. Some of the investors in this round included Cliff Bartow, former CEO of Lenscrafters.[5] Later that year the company launched a home try-on kit[6][7]

In February 2020, the company launched a brand of non-prescription kids sunglasses.[8]
